Grape Pasta Salad Recipe

Thought I would start putting some recipes up to share.  This is a great one.  The original recipe calls for bow tie pasta.

Pasta of your choice
Hand of grapes green or red, sliced in half
Can of medium sized olives, cut into quarters
Half purple onion, diced
Dried cranberries, a hand full
Broccoli, cut off stems and cut into tiny pieces
Coleslaw dressing
Ham, lunch meat or real ham, diced

Enjoy (thanks Marilyn)

Ode to yellow..

So, we bought some yellow paint at Home Depot on Sunday and got the down low on how to paint our metal front door.  We bought paint with primer in it, it is what home depot guys recommended (BEHR, charismatic-color).  I am so excited.  Weather has been awful and we are going to need to take the door off and paint it in the garage and allow sufficient drying time.  So hopefully in the next couple weeks we will have a new front door.  Sounds pretty simple; take door off hinges, remove door knob, tape around window (green frog tape is the best), wipe door down with a wet cloth, sand if need.  Other advice was to use the smallest roller we could find.  Be patient, go slowly and allow enough drying time so the door won't stick to the frame.  So here are some pictures to give me some inspiration.   Everyone we talk to thinks we are crazy but we have a vision and can't wait for the finished product.
Earthy, yet quaint.
Clean and Crisp.
Vintage, Cosy, Cottage.

Bold and bright.
Three houses on the same block.
Colonial and firm.
In love with this photo, I just want to step right in to those boots.
Manicured, cute.
This has Martha Stewart written all over it.
This must be the door to the dragon's keep.
Window panes, steps, stones and bricks.
Modern and fresh.
Traffic light yellow apartment elevator.
Royal blue.
Beattle juice, beetle juice...

(all thses photos were found on bing..i just searched yellow doors)

Dinner time at our house...

I love when Sawyer eats her meals, especially dinner.  She starts off very neat and particular.  She will pick up spilled pieces and place them back in the dish.  Then some how, slowly results in this.  We know when she is done eating because she starts rubbing it all over her body, this happens with any meal or if she is getting tired.  She insists on feeding herself these days and we aren't really even allowed to feed her anymore, she will wave her hand and say NO.  I love our little turkey and don't want her to grow up and will miss dinner time.  I won't miss wiping down the high chair and moping the floor though.

This is our dinner.  Delicious cheeseburger with bacon, and avocado.

I love it when daddy makes Sawyer's crib.  This is one thing I noticed that Jake enjoys and does often.  He will just sneak into her room at random times, lay her blankets out, place her babies neatly in their places.  He even fluffs her pillow a little.  This pretty much makes me melt and is the one of the many reasons I married him.  I've never ever even asked him to perform this task.  So I took a picture so I will never forget.

Awesome Day

Today, Sawyer and I needed to get out of the house.  The sun was shining and we were soaking it up.  Today entailed four in and out of the car seats, first stop was Silverdale Waterfront Park.  I love this park because of the beautiful view of the sound and the bouncing floor play ground.  This is a picture of Sawyer on the swing, from my cell phone.  She just giggled the whole time, every now and then...I thought she might puke because she just had that look.
Second stop was this cute antique shop real close the the park called Tee Dee's Company, my mother-in-law told me about it and I had been curious ever since.  The owner was real nice.  It's open Monday through Friday 10-5.
I especially love this yellow window frame with hooks and a shelf, I think I might print out their 10% off coupon from their website and go back and buy it.  I love places like this and just thought I would share.  They also have a facebook page like everyone else and their mother....except mine.

Third stop was McDonald's for a happy meal, then we went to Goodwill and got some cute things for only $5.
Then we got cupcakes at Bella Bella, a perfect end to yet again another wonderful day.

Baby Play Date with the Bailey's

So we got the rest of the trees cut down that were anywhere close to being able to fall on our house in a wind storm.  We think the odds of having another tree fall on our house are slim but we didn't want to take any chances.  We weren't about the have that happen again.

My friends, wanted the trees for fire wood.  We told them they could have as much wood as a wood chuck could chuck...so we made a play date out of it.

We had pb&j's for the babes and turkey avocado for the adults.  This was the first time we used our new porch.  Even though it was a little chilly, it was worth it.

Then we ran off some energy!  Every now and then the sun would shine and it felt so wonderful and warm...this really has been a long winter.

Sawyer picked up rocks, she also ate a handful of dirt, she eventually got the dog's food bowl to put all of her rocks in.
Belle smiling for the camera.

Sawyer probably fell about twenty times, she would bif it in the dirt without dropping her rock and get right up and do it again.

Austin had just as much fun.  Notice the dimples.
After fixing a flat tire, James got a huge load of wood and plans to come back to get more.
It was a great day.  Belle politely said, "Let's go inside now."
